Author’s note: I wouldn’t say that I’m not a fan of clichés or tropes…in fact I’d go so far as to say that everyone likes them.
However there is the cliché of hate before love which I find to be absolutely intolerable. So here is something based on that. I hope the readers will enjoy it.
How flawed can a writer’s imagination be
In making arguments a foundation for affection?
No; long familiarity made never
A snake and mongoose friends.
Bound by chains of society or
Trapped in the whimsical haze of lust,
Their false love breeds true children.
True children,
Who will know not of harmony, of care.
But exposed to pride and rancour.
Scarred their souls shall be.
And yet, another fanciful writer will be ready to mock them
With another cliché of hate before love.
